The ESVS conference serves in my mind at the premier vascular surgery meeting in Europe. The opportunity to present at such a forum is an honour in and of itself, and one I hope to enjoy again in the future. Winning the prize for the best abstract of the meeting, when competing with so many other high quality and original studies was a true accolade and it is an achievement that I am very proud of

To share research and experience at the European Society for Vascular Surgery is the ideal opportunity to come in contact with the top caliber of international vascular surgeons from Europe and around the world. I feel both obliged and honored to submit my research, and to be rewarded for my presentation is extremely gratifying. The international context and level of science at the Annual Meeting motivate me to continue my involvement, particularly with an increasing focus of my research in a more global perspective

I was very proud to have my work accepted for an abstract presentation at the last ESVS annual meeting. This opportunity gave me the chance to share and discuss my results with prestigious faculty members and attendees from all around the word.
This year, winning the Prize of the best abstract was a particular honour and encourages me to work on further scientific projects. Thus, I would be happy to submit my research next year.

The ESVS Annual Meeting is one of the most recognized and important Vascular Surgery congress in the world. Key-opinion leaders present the current state of the art as well as the latest breaking trials and techniques. A wide variety of workshops and hands-on booths unlock the practical experience with new techniques and devices.
Furthermore, multiple fast-track and ESVT sessions allow for vascular surgeons, to present their work with the scientific community in a healthy and sharing environment. The opportunity to expose your work with your international colleagues is a great fulfilling experience. Open debate, opinion sharing and new suggestions make it worthwhile.
It was with enormous honour that I received the news that me and my colleagues were awarded the 1st prize at the ESVT Scientific Session with the paper titled “Anterior tibial artery pseudoaneurysm leading to diagnosis of Cowden Syndrome – a case report”. It represents the international peer recognition and appreciation of our work.
Finally, the wholesome experience at the ESVS 36th Annual Meeting with its plenary sessions, workshops and open sessions is unquestionably a must for vascular surgeons, especially young ones, who are keen with learning, updating, practicing and sharing.

I appreciate the opportunity to present at the ESVS annual meeting a second time. I decided to write this abstract because I wanted to have the chance to discuss how crucial it is to plan and build a strategy for vascular surgery. Being awarded the second prize this time is immensely gratifying and fulfilling, and it has undoubtedly encouraged me to submit again in the future. Participating in such significant events is, in my opinion, a fantastic opportunity for vascular faculty and trainees

I submitted my abstract to this meeting for mainly two reasons: one, the opportunity to share my pre-clinical research results and two, to be informed and updated on the current knowledge in the area of vascular surgery.
Participating in this meeting was a fantastic experience, both personally and professionally. It was great to see how people received my research, even if it was not as surgically oriented as the rest of the meeting. I think it’s important to keep a link between pre-clinical research, which is what I do, and clinical/surgical research and procedures.
It is an honour to be selected to present at the Prize Session. Wining is just the cherry on top! For me, it feels like a recognition for my research. And a sign that it is important and interesting to other people.

Approaching the end of my PhD, I was keen to share my findings with the European Society for Vascular Surgery. Presenting to the vascular surgery community and receiving insightful feedback and questions from leaders in the field was a great opportunity for which I am grateful. I was delighted to be awarded a prize in recognition of this research to which I have dedicated the last three years. I look forward to continued engagement with the Society in future as a great platform for learning and professional development, as well as sharing the findings of the next phase of research.
